Ingredients:

  • 10 medium slices of bread
  • oil for frying
  • 1 liter milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 5-6 green cardamom
  • 1 tsp kewra water
  • 1 tsp orange food color (zarday ka rang)

Method:

  • Cut slices into half and deep fry on medium heat.
  • Bring milk to boil. Add all other ingredients and cook for 5 minutes then slow down the flame but don't turn it off.
  • Dip fried bread slices into milk then place in a dish. Repeat the same procedure with all bread slices.
  • Pour the remaining milk mixture over the slices and refrigerate.
  • Garnish with pistachios, almonds, coconut or silver leaf (chandi k varq).
