Drumsticks Recipe - Fried Chicken - Crispy Broast

 And here is the love of every kid,  and even elders.  Drumsticks,  broast or crispy fried chicken,  you can call it with any name. Many people think that making fast food restaurant style fried chicken at home and getting the perfect crust is very difficult,  but i bet it's not.  Just try this simple recipe at home and enjoy, the results will be crunchy crispy coating outside and juicy chicken inside. 



Ingredients :

For marination :

  • 1 kg Leg piece / thigh piece
  • 3 cups milk 
  • 3 tbsp vinegar 
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder 
  • 1 tbsp fresh garlic paste or garlic powder 
For coating :
  • 3 cups maida (all purpose flour) 
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder 
  • 1 tsp white pepper powder 
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda 
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional) 
  • 1 tsp onion powder (optional) 
  • Oil for frying 
Directions :
  • Make cuts in chicken after washing it.
  • Mix vinegar in room temperature milk and leave  for 5 minutes,  it will be used as buttermilk alternative. 
  • In a large bowl, mix buttermilk and all other ingredients in chicken and keep in fridge overnight,  or atleast for 1-2 hours at room temperature . 
  • In a separate bowl, mix all coating ingredients. 
  • Coat the marinated chicken in flour mix, then dip in the remaining buttermilk mixture, then again coat in the flour mix, and remove excess flour to make crumbs. 
  • Fry on medium high heat. 
  • Do not fry on very low or very high flame and do not overload your frying pan. 
  • Fry chicken until golden brown. 
  • Enjoy..!
